What It’s Like to Ride a Scooter to Big Buddha in Phuket, Thailand:
I guess you can also say that this is also a “How to go to Big Buddha in Phuket, Thailand“.
Here’s a screenshot from Google Maps to show the direction that I’m going:
At the starting point of this map, there is a big bump on the road. There have been so many scooter accidents because of this bump. I think it’s because people don’t notice it while speeding. Please be careful while driving or riding on the road to Big Buddha.
The whole scooter ride can take 15-20 minutes depending on how fast you’re going. If you’re a beginner on a scooter, I’d recommend slowly taking your time while going up. And if you watch the YouTube video, there are some steep areas while riding up the road.
Also, on your way up, there are a couple of places where you can feed the elephants. From what I can remember, I think it’s about 100 baht.
There are also a few restaurants and cafes. I’d like to recommend visiting Thai Gallery and Coffee Bar, it’s right before Big Buddha. We stayed at the cafe during the sunset… and it was beautiful. Here are some pictures of the cafe, menu and sunset:
